Social and Emotional Learning

We are committed to nurturing the whole child through a strong and supportive Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program. All Foundation to Year 6 classes participate in weekly SEL lessons guided by the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 Personal and Social Capability, the Department of Education’s Respectful Relationships initiative, the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework, and our core school values of respect, responsibility, and teamwork.

These lessons are designed to help students build and maintain respectful relationships, understand and manage their emotions, and develop empathy and resilience. Students learn how their actions and interactions are shaped by our shared values and how these values influence the way they treat others – both within the school and in the wider community.

Through explicit teaching and ongoing reinforcement, our SEL program plays a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
